TAMPA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Rosie Chamberlain moved one step closer to the NCAA Championships with a solid 800-meter run at the NCAA East Preliminary on Thursday afternoon.
The native of Exeter, England, moved on to Friday's quarterfinals at the USF Track and Field Complex with a time of 2:06.94. Chamberlain was among the top three in her heat, automatically advancing her to Friday's quarterfinals. She will run at 2:15 p.m.
A pair of Knights in action on Thursday just missed the cut to advance to Eugene. Natosha Jordan cleared 5-7/1.70 to tie for 22nd in the high jump. Jhane' Carter threw a season-best 50-9.5/15.48m to finish 26th in the shot put.
Carter will join Gabby Durant in the hammer throw on Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m.
