CINCINNATI, Ohio (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team earned its first podium finish of the 2018 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship at Gettler Stadium on Saturday.

Natosha Jordan earned UCF's best heptathlon finish as a member of The American, collecting 4,980 points to finish second overall.

For the second day in a row, Jordan set an American Athletic Conference meet record in the heptathlon, this time adding her name to the record book in the long jump. She landed at a personal best distance of 18-11.75/5.78m to shatter the record of 18-7/5.66m set by Kiersten LaRoche from Temple in 2014.

Competing in both the javelin and 800-meter run for the first time this season, she added eight points to UCF's team total, bringing the number to 11 after two days of action.

On the track, Shaniya Williams advanced to Sunday's 100-meter dash finals with a time of 11.68. She finished second in her heat, and the rookie posted the sixth-fastest time of the day to advance to her first outdoor finals.

Courtney Morgan threw a personal best 146-4/44.62m in the discus to finish 11th overall. Keausha Bradley-Macklin set a personal best in the long jump, landing at 16.6.5/5.04m. Venida Fagan just missed the cut to advance in the 400-meter dash, as her time of 56.25 was ninth overall. Sarah Wollaston improved her mark in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line in 12.05.

After two days of competition, UCF has 11 points, and sits in 11th in the team standings.
