TAMPA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF softball team closed the doors on the 2018 season after taking a 3-0 loss to Memphis in the American Athletic Championship quarterfinals Thursday evening at the USF Softball Stadium.
Alea White received the start in the circle giving up two earned runs on seven hits and striking out four ending her season 25-15.

Memphis struck first in the top of the fourth after a pair of UCF errors to take a 2-0 lead. The Tigers continued to extend their lead in the fifth with an RBI single to go up 3-0 on the Knights.
UCF grabbed one more hit in the bottom of the fifth with a single from Jazmine Esparza, but the two hits from the Knights would be all from the offense.
The loss brings the Knights record to 34-22 overall and 12-9 in conference play finished tied for third. In their four seasons in The American, UCF has finished third or better each year.
