Opens in a new window Bogdan Pavel ITF Page

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF Director for Tennis John Roddick announced another addition to the signing class of 2018. Bogdan Pavel inked his National Letter of Intent to play for the Knights starting next fall.

"We could not be more excited about the addition of Bogdan to our program," Roddick said. "He brings every quality that we look for in a player. He exemplifies toughness, energy, leadership and a desire to play tennis at a high level. He is also a terrific student. He had a 4.0 GPA and never made a B in his academic career. We see a very high ceiling for Bogdan, and we are thankful for the opportunity to help him improve not only in tennis, but in becoming a great man of character as well."

Originally from Pitesti, Romania, Pavel is a three-time U16 Romanian Doubles National Champion. He climbed all the way up the No. 1 ranking in the country last year, and represented Romania at the European Summer Cup.

Pavel's trophy cabinet also includes the 41st Medias-sen-Sibiu Junior ITF Tournament singles titles, as well as three ITF Junior doubles titles and five runner-up finishes.

The Romanian international reached as high as 77th in the ITF Junior Rankings, 1,442 in the ATP singles and 1,465 in the ATP doubles rankings.

Pavel joins Tyler Hilderbrand as the newest batch of Knights. The duo will open their UCF careers next fall.
