ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – UCF head women's golf coach Emily Marron has announced the signing of Alyssa Lamoureux to a National Letter of Intent.
Lamoureux is one of the top junior golfers in the State of Florida. She earned 2016 Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) Junior Golfer of the Year honors one year after being runner-up for that title. Lamoureux was the 2015 Florida High School Activities Association Class 3A State Champion, playing for Seminole High School.
"I knew she was a special player from the first time I watched Alyssa play," Marron said. "She is one of the best competitors I've ever seen. We are so excited to add her to our roster next year. I am confident the experience she gained while playing in the top junior and amateur events will help her transition quickly to the college level. Alyssa will be a big part of our future success here at UCF."
Lamoureux was the 2015 FSGA State Amateur runner-up. She qualified for the 2017 USGA Women's Amateur and also qualified for the 2016 USGA Junior Girls Championship. Lamoureux finished second at the 2017 Florida Girls Junior Amateur and was tied for seventh, advancing to the Round of 32, at the 2017 Florida Women's Amateur Championship. She has also been a regular Top 10 finisher on the Florida Junior Tour.
Lamoureux will be a freshman with the Knights when they begin their 2018-19 campaign this fall.
