ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – As a part of the USTA College MatchDay festivities on Saturday, UCF Tennis honored the generous contribution to the program from Jeff and Debra Condello. The Knights dedicated Court No. 1 at the USTA National Campus Collegiate Tennis Center as Condello Family Court.
"Anytime someone makes a gift like that, we can't thank the Condello family enough," said UCF director of tennis John Roddick. "It's something that our program needs. We've made a big commitment in trying to build two of the best programs in college tennis with our men and women and you cant survive without support like that."
The Condello family made a $100,000 commitment over the next five years. The gift will help Roddick and women's tennis head coach Bryan Koniecko in their efforts to transform UCF Tennis into a nationally competitive program.
"Huge thank you to them," said Koniecko. "It's an exciting time for UCF and its great to see the community get together and support us. This is a great year and a great time and its only going to get better."
The Condello family has supported UCF Athletics for nearly a decade. They joined in the UCF Basketball Excellence Fund and contributed to phase one of the John Euliano Park expansion. Debra Condello plays in a local tennis league and enjoys following UCF Tennis.
