SARASOTA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF rowing team collected a win in Sarasota on Saturday morning.
 
The Third Varsity Eight, which consisted of Taylor Jenko, Anna Edkins, Jordan Jahosky, Eileen Acken, Nicole Snyder, Jacinta Kendall, Tatum Cox, Caitlin Thompson and Jennifer Barnes, crossed the line in 8:27.6 for an open water victory over Miami.
 
Facing a head wind at 10-12 mph, the Knights lined up against Wisconsin and Miami in Nathan Benderson Park.
 
In the Varsity Eight Race, UCF's squad of Catherine Harms, Lara Maule, Ieva Medelinskaite, Alyssa Ramos, Marija Medelinskaite, Grace Lindberg, Luci Derrick, Leslie Lajoie and Mia Cleary, finished seven seconds ahead of Miami, crossing the finish line in 7:02.1 to take second.
 
UCF's Second Varsity Eight, consisting of Nicole Mayer, Abbie Pritchard, Rachel Rabinowitz, Rusne Dziugyte, Sydney Hays, Magdalena Pasternak, Shannon Perry, Paula Parks and Michaela Gundrum, finished third in 7:26.6.
 
The Varsity Four boat, consisting of Jillian Jernas, Danielle Wilson, Darby Brooks, Jessica Matteson and Maria Yim, finish third in 8:53.1.
 
The Second Varsity Four squad of Ciera Jarrett, Julia Quintiliani, Demi Dorsey, Katherine Goetz and Rhiannon Timpko, finished fourth in 10:11.9.
 
UCF returns to action on April 6, racing at Nathan Benderson Park for the second straight weekend at the two-day Sunshine State Invitational.
