GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF track and field team continued its strong showing at the Pepsi Florida Relays at Percy Beard Track on Friday.

All three of Gabby Durant's throws were personal bests for the redshirt junior, but her first throw of the day, 193-1/58.87m, advanced her to the hammer throw finals. On her fifth attempt of the day, Durant's toss landed at 195-11/59.73m, not only setting a new personal best, but also giving her the victory in the event.

Jhane' Carter joined Durant in the top 10, as her season-best distance of 179-11/54.83m gave her a seventh place finish.

UCF added another top 10 finish in the 800-meter run. Rosie Chamberlain turned in a season-best 2:05.46 to finish ninth overall. Already among the top 15 runners in the country, the senior moved into the top 10 with her mark in the event.

Beth Williams continued her solid rookie campaign, turning in a personal-best time of 2:11.97 in the 800, and was followed by teammate Crystal Tejeda, who crossed the line in 2:14.68.

Kalleigh Forrester turned in a season-best time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 11:01.34 to finish 16th in the event.

The 4x4 crew of Ebony Crear, Crystal Tejeda, Rosie Chamberlain and Venida Fagan turned in their second-fastest time of the season, crossing the line in 3:51.64.

The Knights conclude Pepsi Florida Relays action on Saturday, beginning with the shot put invitational at 1 p.m.
