ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) –UCF softball welcomes defending back-to-back American Athletic Conference champion Tulsa Golden Hurricane to open conference play from Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25 at the UCF Softball Complex.
Friday's duel will begin at 5:30 p.m., while Saturday's first pitch is slated for 2 p.m. and Sunday's matchup will begin at 12 p.m. All three games will be streamed live via UCFKnights.tv and there will be live stats available via ucfknights.com. Fans will be able to enjoy the UCF band during Friday night's action and can grab autograph's after Saturday's battle. Saturday will also feature a tribute to the 15-year anniversary of Stephanie Best's NCAA record setting game as she throws out the first pitch. On Sunday, play softball bingo as you enjoy the game.
After Wednesday's contests, the Knights are 18-12 entering the weekend after playing 18 games in 20 days . Alea White added another win against Princeton as she continues to be in the top 20 in the nation and atop The American in wins with 13.
THE FIELD
Tulsa: 19-11 overall; 17-21 against the Golden Hurricane all time. The Knights took the series last season winning two of the three meetings when Tulsa was ranked No. 24 in the country.
In last season's showdown, Cassady Brewer registered at least a hit in all three games, while Megan Greenwell also recorded three hits and a stolen base in the series.
RECAPPING THE LAST UCF OUTING
Greenwell had a career-high three stolen bases in a single game to become the seventh player in program history to steal over 50 bases after Wednesday's games at the UCF Softball Complex.
The Knights split the series with Princeton with a 6-1 win in the first game and a 7-4 loss to follow up the win.
Jazmine Esparza went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI, while Greenwell and Aubrey Johnson went 2-for-5 with a run scored each.
White threw a combined seven innings on the day allowing only one earned run and three hits.
