Knights Sign Top-100 ITF Junior

Opens in a new window 2018 Schedule

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – During the early signing period, UCF Director of Tennis and head men's tennis coach John Roddick announced the signing of one of the top juniors in the United States. Trey Hilderbrand sent in his National Letter of Intent to play with the Knights earlier this week.

"We couldn't be more excited to have Trey join UCF," Roddick said. "He is a tremendous competitor and has really developed an all-around game in the last couple of years. The strides he had made in the past 12 months have been nothing short of phenomenal. Trey is going to make an enormous positive impact on our program on and off the court."

Hilderbrand, a senior at Oak Hills Academy, is the 58th ranked junior in the world by the International Tennis Federation. He has four ITF singles titles, including the 2017 Canadian U18 World Ranking Event, the Davis Trading Junior ITF Vancouver Championships and the Copa Cariari in San Jose, Costa Rica. Hilderbrand also added ITF doubles championships at the Copa Cariari, El Salvador ITF Junior 2017 and the Pan American ITF Championship.

In 2017, Hilderbrand has posted a 34-7 record in singles play and an 18-6 doubles mark. The San Antonio, Texas, native reached the Round of 16 at the US Open Junior Tennis Championships in September.

In addition to his world ranking, Tennis Recruiting ranked HIlderbrand eighth in the nation with and second in the Tennis Recruiting RPI.
