UCF-UConn Postgame Notes


General

  • UCF captains: Caleb Perez, Rory Coleman, Chequan Burkett, Otis Anderson, Sean Pratt.
  • Coin Toss: UCF won toss, elected to receive in the south end zone.
  • The Knights won the toss for the second time this season.
  • Head coach Scott Frost is now 1-0 as a father.
  • The Knights now take a 3-2 series lead over the Huskies.
  • With nine straight wins, the Knights tied the longest winning streak in program history (2013)


Offense

  • With his first completed pass of the game, Milton moved into sole control of ninth in the career pass completions list. He now has 370 pass completions in his career.
  • Milton finished with 311 yards passing. He tied Blake Bortles (2013) and Daunte Culpepper (1997) for third with five 300-yard passing games in a single season.
  • Otis Anderson's 65-yard touchdown run was the longest run of his career and was the longest run for the Knights not by a player named Adrian Killins Jr.
  • With his second and third touchdowns of the season, Saturday marked Anderson's first multi-touchdown game.
  • The Knights have scored on their opening offensive drive in seven games this season.
  • Adrian Killins Jr. notched his eighth rushing touchdown of the season.
  • Marlon Williams recorded his first career touchdown on a toss from Milton in the first quarter.
  • Milton has completed at least one touchdown pass in each of the last 10 games.
  • Smith hauled in his 10th receiving touchdown of the year.
  • Gabriel Davis made a career-high eight receptions on the afternoon.
  • Milton did not commit an interception for the fifth time this season.
  • The Knights did not score in the third quarter. The Black and Gold have been held scoreless in a period one other time this season, in the first quarter against Maryland.
  • Tre'Quan Smith finished with 120 yards on seven receptions. He now is tied with Ted Wilson for third with 10 career 100-yard reception games.
  • Noah Vedral found Cam Stewart on a 35-yard touchdown throw. It was the first touchdown pass of Vedral's career and Stewart's first score.


Defense

  • Tony Guerad's fumble recovery was the first of his career.
  • Shawn Burgess-Becker tallied his second sack of the season, and his first since the opener against FIU.
  • The Knights tallied three sacks with one each also coming from Trysten Hill and Shaquem Griffin.
  • Mike Hughes picked off his third pass of the season to tie for the team lead with Kyle Gibson.

Special Teams

  • Matthew Wright moved into a tie for fifth on the all-time PAT list with 111. He was 7-for-7 on Saturday. He joined Javier Beorlegui (1998-01).
  • Punter Mac Loudermilk boomed the eighth longest punt in school history, a nicely placed 69-yard effort that flipped the field at the end of the first half.
