United Soccer Coaches Poll Adamek, Orschmann Recognized TDS Team of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Extending its unbeaten streak to six matches, the UCF women's soccer team moved up a spot in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 to No. 13 in Tuesday's poll.

UCF (5-1-1, 1-0-1) opened American Athletic Conference action last weekend with a 0-0 draw against a Cincinnati squad that is receiving votes in the poll. The Knights then topped ECU, 4-0, as Kayla Adamek and Dina Orschmann each netted a pair of goals. The duo earned recognition with the league's weekly honors on Monday, while Adamek earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week.

The Knights have not lost a match since dropping their season opener at then-No. 4 South Carolina. UCF has topped two Pac 12 opponents and an ACC foe in the unbeaten streak.

On Monday, the NCAA released its updated RPI ratings, which ranked the Knights fourth. The RPI standings rank more than 330 teams based upon their wins, losses and strength of schedule.

The Knights are no stranger to the United Soccer Coaches – previously known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) – rankings. From Dec. 2011 until Sept. 2015, the Knights had been ranked or receiving votes in every NSCAA poll.

The Black and Gold returned to the poll on Aug. 28, jumping in at No. 24. UCF has continued to move up in each release of the weekly poll.

UCF continues league play on Thursday, hosting Tulsa at the UCF Soccer Complex. Slated for a 7 p.m. start, the first 75 students will receive a free soccer scarf. The Knights host Memphis in a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday.
