ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's tennis team announced its fall slate on Friday. The second year of the John Roddick era features seven competitions this fall.
First up, the Knights will play in the Bedford Cup against other programs from Florida on Oct. 6, hosted by Florida State.
ITA Regionals are set for Oct. 13-17 in Atlanta, Ga. Last season, Danny Kerznerman reached the round of 16 in Tallahassee.
The fall schedule also features five professional tournaments for Roddick's squad. The Knights will send players to the F33 Futures in Houston (Oct. 9-15), F34 Futures in Harlingen, Texas, (Oct. 16-22), F35 Futures in Birmingham, Ala., (Oct. 30-Nov. 5), F36 Futures in Niceville, Fla., (Nov.6) and F37 Futures in Pensacola, Fla., (Nov. 13-19).
UCF went 16-7 in 2017, earning its first bid to the NCAA Tournament since 2005. The Knights knocked off four ranked opponents during Roddick's first season. Korey Lovett became the first player in program history to qualify for the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Tournament.
In July, the Knights unveiled a power packed signing class for 2017, which featured four of the top 60 players in the ITF World Junior Rankings.
