TULSA, Okla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF tallied a game-high eight hits, but fell to No. 24 Tulsa, 3-0, on Friday evening at the Collins Softball Complex. The Knights were led by junior Megan Greenwell, who went 2-for-4.

The difference in the pitcher's duel between UCF (27-22, 9-7 The American) freshman Alea White and Tulsa's (37-13, 15-1 The American) Emily Watson was a two-run blast hit by Rylie Spell in the second frame. The Hurricane tacked on an unearned run in the fifth frame.

White went the distance in the circle for the Knights and fanned three, while conceding just five base knocks.

The eight hits by the Knights tied the most that Watson (26-3) had given up all season. Cal State Northridge (2/11) and Syracuse (2/18) were the only other teams to record eight base hits against Watson.

The Knights had their opportunities, but left eight runners on base. UCF loaded the bases in the top of the sixth on sophomore Cassady Brewer's 11th double of the season and infield singles by junior Courtney Rotton and Jazmine Esparza with one out., but a pair of strikeouts ended the threat.

A pair of Knights were also on base in the third inning following infield singles by freshman Aubrey Johnson and Greenwell.

After converting her first 76 chances at shortstop in conference play, senior Brittany Solis made her first error in the fifth inning.
