ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF's Korey Lovett was honored by the American Athletic Conference with post-season all-conference accolades on Thursday, as announced by the league office.

"Korey had a great year and is very deserving of being all-conference," head coach John Roddick said. "He has worked extremely hard to get to this point and it is great to see him recognized on the all-conference team."

The junior is having an impressive season, recording a 14-8 mark at No. 1 singles. He started the season with a six-match winning streak and has had wins against multiple ranked opponents, including No. 28 Or Ram-Harel of Tulsa, No. 46 Ronald Slobodchikov of SMU and No. 62 Sasha Gozun of USF.

The Brevard, N.C., native was chosen to compete in the NCAA Singles Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia. The first match is scheduled to begin on May 24 with the rest of the 64-person draw being released later this May.

Lovett jumped up a spot to No. 42 in the newest Oracle/ITA Singles Rankings, the highest he's been ranked this season.

On Tuesday, the Knights earned their first ever at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. UCF, which is now No. 28 in the recent Oracle/ITA Team Rankings, will be taking on No. 42 Louisville in the first round. The Knights and Cardinals take the court on May 12 at 11 a.m., in Columbus, Ohio. The winner will take on either No. 3 Ohio State or Butler in the second round.
