TEMPE, Ariz. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF track and field team posted impressive performances across the country on Saturday.
SheKara Martin highlighted UCF's day at the Sun Angel Classic, winning the 200-meter dash premiere event. The Greenwood, S.C., native turned in a season-best mark of 23.77 to capture the title. She also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash premiere event with a season-best time of 11.82.
Rosie Chamberlain added another top-five finish for the Knights as she placed fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.87.
Loren Gallmon turned in personal bests in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. The Jamaica, N.Y., native placed second in the 100 and took fifth in the 200.
The 4x400 relay squad, consisting of Ebony Crear, Ashley Jocelyn, J'Nea Bellamy and SheKara Martin, placed fourth with a time of 3:40.59. Bellamy, Martin and Jocelyn teamed up with Alissa Williams for fifth place in the 4x100 relay with a 46.00 mark.
In Jacksonville, Maddie Bryan placed second in the pole vault, clearing a personal-best 11-7.75/3.55m. Kalleigh Forrester posted a season-best time of 10:56.62 to place fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
Venida Fagan turned in a personal best mark of 57.02 to finish fifth in the 400-meter dash. Marissa Codispodi finished ninth in the 1500-meter run. Emily Jenkinson placed 10th in the 800-meter run with a season-best mark of 2:17.38.
The Knights return to action at the Mt. Sac Relays on April 13-15.
