GREENSBORO, N.C. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 22 UCF women's golf team finished eleventh at the Bryan National Collegiate Sunday. The event at Bryan Park Champions Course marked the team's final competition before heading into the American Athletic Conference Championship.
Senior Ashley Holder was the Knights top performer for the seventh time this season. Holder made par on all but one hole in her opening 18, and led the field with 42-total pars for the weekend. Holder finished tied for 21st carding a three-round total of 220 (+4).
Senior Ayaka Nakayama finished 31st with a total tally of 224 (+8). Nakayama was fourth among all individuals with 39 total pars. Freshman Maria Balcazar finished 54th with a 229 (+13) while senior Johanna Larsson and sophomore Anna Hack each tied 59th with a 232 (+16).
As the Knights set their sights on the AAC championship, the team finishes the regular season campaign with eight Top 10 and five Top 5 finishes and a higher rank of any conference opponent.
The AAC championship is scheduled for April 16-18 at the Hammock Beach Resort's Conservatory Course. UCF won the AAC championship in just two seasons ago, when then-senior Monifa Sealy took medalist honors and head coach Emily Marron was named AAC Coach of the Year.
