ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Head coach John Roddick announced the 2017 UCF Men's Tennis signing class. The Knights welcome a pair of international players.
Gabriel Decamps joins the Black and Gold with numerous accolades. The São Paulo native is the No. 1 junior in Brazil, and has been ranked as high as No. 17 in the International Tennis Foundation (ITF) junior rankings. He was part of the Brazilian Davis Cup Team. In November 2016, Decamps won the ITF Grade 1 Yucatán Cup, defeating the ITF Junior World No. 1 player in the quarterfinals. He won the doubles draw of the Sudamericano Individual in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
Alan Rubio is the No. 1 junior player in Mexico. The Hermosillo native has landed as high as No. 29 in the ITF junior rankings. Rubio won the ITF Grade 1 Copa Barranquilla tournament in Colombia. He was a part of the 2017 Mexican Davis Cup team.
The Knights are preparing for the American Athletic Conference Championships which run from April 20-23 at the USTA National Campus.
