Dropped Decision

GREENVILLE, N.C. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF was unable to overcome a six-run second inning by East Carolina in a 9-0 five-inning loss on Friday evening at the ECU Softball Stadium.

The lone hit for the Knights (17-16, 1-3 The American) came by freshman first baseman Jazmine Esparza in the second inning, where UCF left a pair of runners in scoring position.

ECU (18-18, 2-2 The American) saw Lydia Ritchie (10-6) notch the victory and strikeout four. Kacie Oshiro led the Pirates with four RBI.

The Knights saw freshman Kamryn Toney and senior Manami Calixto log innings in the circle.

Next Up
The Knights continue their three-game set at East Carolina on Saturday at 2 p.m. The series finale is slated for noon.

UCF returns home on April 13 for a nationally televised contest against South Florida at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
