ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Former Director of Volleyball Operations, Marc Neef, has accepted an assistant volleyball coach position at Stony Brook.
"Marc has worked so hard, in multiple capacities, to make UCF Volleyball better," head coach Todd Dagenais said. "If anyone deserves the opportunity to make a difference at a Division I program, it's him. He has done everything that we have asked him to do from data, to video, training and even player development. He has taken advantage of every opportunity. We have had a rich tradition of volunteer assistant coaches making rapid ascents into the Division I coaching ranks. I have every reason to believe that as talented as Marc is, he is going to have a huge impact on Stony Brook and the northeastern volleyball community. We are very proud of him and thank him for all his selflessness."
Neef started with UCF Volleyball as a Volunteer Assistant Coach during the spring of 2015. After a year as coach, Neef transitioned into the Director of Volleyball Operations position.
Over his two years, Neef has helped the Knights to a 38-27 overall record, going 22-18 in American Athletic Conference play. He has seen many players receive league honors, including two-time American Athletic Conference First Team all-conference recipient and AVCA First Team All-Region honoree Jalé Hervey.
"It has been a pleasure to learn under head coach Todd Dagenais and all the staff during my time at UCF," Neef said. "I know I will always be a member of the UCF family. I am very excited about my opportunity to bring my knowledge of the game, team strategies and technical skills to Stony Brook."
Neef joins a brand new coaching staff at Stony Brook, which will be led by new head coach, Kristin Belzung.
