Marc Neef joined the Knights' staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the spring of 2015. He transitioned to the role of director of volleyball operations in the spring of 2016.
Prior to UCF, Neef served as an assistant at Cornell College, in Mount Vernon, Iowa, for the past seven seasons. While completing his undergraduate degree, he served as a student assistant coach. After graduating in 2012, Neef moved into the assistant coaching position.
In his seven seasons at Cornell, Neef coached the Rams to a 158-70 record including four consecutive conference championships and four consecutive national tournament berths capped with a sweet sixteen appearance in 2014.
Neef's coaching career started as a student assistant at Spokane High School in his hometown of Spokane, Missouri. He assisted the Owls to three district championships highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the 2006 state tournament.
He also carries coaching experience in the club volleyball circuit. He has served as a Head Coach for Eastern Iowa Xtreme since 2011. Since his move to Florida, he has joined the coaching staff at OVA as a practice coach and individual trainer.
Neef has also been a staple in the Iowa High Performance Program since 2012. He served as an assistant for the Iowa WJNT Navy Team at High Performance Championships in Des Moines in 2012. In 2013 he stepped into a head coaching position for the Iowa GYNT that competed at HPC's in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His best High Performance experience came in the summer of 2014 when he coached the Iowa GYNT Team to a silver medal at High Performance Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
