ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF baseball team is set to host Jacksonville at the UCF Baseball Complex Friday, before heading to JU for games two and three of the home and home series. Both squads will then play four games against other opponents before returning to Orlando to finish the series on Tue. Mar. 28.

At 15-3, the Knights are off to their best start since 2008, when their predecessors started 17-1. The team's only losses this season came against top-ranked Florida and Florida State.

Senior Robby Howell will start for the Knights Friday, with senior Juan Pimentel getting the nod Saturday and redshirt junior Jason Bahr taking the ball Sunday. UCF starters have a combined 3.30 ERA through 92.2 innings and have struck out 90 hitters while walking just 27.

Offensively, the Black and Gold boast a team batting average of .305. Knights hitters have delivered 29 doubles, nine triples, 17 home runs, and have stolen 36-38 bases. Redshirt sophomore Kyle Marsh and freshman Rylan Thomas each have 19 RBIs while the team has scored 139 runs on 181 hits.

Jacksonville enters the series at 10-9, including a win over then-No. 2 Florida. The Dolphins defeated the Gators 3-2 at Sessions Stadium back on Feb 21.

Following the first three games with Jacksonville, the Knights will visit Bethune-Cookman for a game Tuesday Mar. 21 at 6 p.m. before returning home for a weekend series with Dartmouth Mar. 24-26.
