GAINESVILLE (UCFKnights.com) - No. 25 UCF is in third place after two rounds at the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational. The Knights are 19-over par after Saturday's first two rounds at the Mark Bostick Golf Course. UCF trails only No. 6 Florida and No. 11 Duke.
The Knights were paced by freshman Maria Balcazar and senior Ashley Holder. Balcazar was 2-over after the first round, but came back with an even-par 70 in the second round. She is tied for fourth and is just four strokes behind Duke's Leona Maguire for the individual lead. Holder was +3 in the first round and also turned in an even-par 70 in the second round. She is tied for seventh and is just five strokes off the pace.
Johanna Larsson is tied for 21st. The senior struggled to an 8-over 78 in the first round, but rebounded with an even-par 70 in the second round. Junior Kaeli Jones is 10-over for the tournament and sits in a tie for 30th place. Ayaka Nakayama carded rounds of 74 and 78 and is currently tied for 47th. Nicolette Donovan is entered in the tournament as an individual. She is currently +16 and tied for 66th.
