ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF completes a nine-game stretch on the road Wednesday at Florida Gulf Coast. The first pitch from Ft. Myers is set for 4:30 p.m.

On Monday, junior Courtney Rotton as tabbed as The American Player of the Week following an impressive weekend at the Easton Bama Bash, which included an all-tournament team nod. The Clermont, Fla., native went 8-for-15 with a double and triple, while driving in four runs. She also tallied three of the Knights' five hits in two contests at No. 10 Alabama.
 
UCF
The Knights (6-6) posted a 3-2 mark at the Easton Bama Bash with victories against Gardner-Webb (2) and Texas Tech. UCF posted a nine-run seventh inning to break open a 4-3 contest against the Red Raiders in a 13-4 victory.
 
All six defeats for the Knights have come against teams that are currently ranked in the Top 25 – Alabama (2), Kentucky, Pittsburgh (2) and UCLA.
 
Pacing the offense with a .371 average is Rotton, who has contributed two doubles, a triple and a home run. Six RBI each have been driven in by senior Linnea Goodman and freshman Tamesha Glover.
 
With the emergence of freshman Kamryn Toney (2-0) at the Easton Bama Bash, UCF has three quality arms in its pitching staff. Freshman Alea White (2-4) has posted a 3.85 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 40.0 innings of work, while a 1.67 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 21.0 frames has been tallied by senior Manami Calixto (2-2).
 
FGCU
The Eagles enter the midweek matchup with an 8-6 mark that includes victories against LIU-Brooklyn (4), Fresno State, Boston College, Hofstra and Rutgers.
 
The duo of Kelsey Huff and Racquel Fournet pace the offense with .429 and .400 batting averages. Huff has driven in a team-high 13 runs, while Fournet has added 11.
 
In the circle, FGCU has relied upon Riley Randolph (4-2), who has notched 29 strikeouts in 36.1 innings. Taylor Wade (3-2) had tossed 25.1 frames and fanned 13 hitters.
 
Series History
The Knights hold a 3-0 mark all-time against the Eagles. This is the first meeting between the two squads in Ft. Myers. The team played twice in Orlando last year, while the first matchup between the programs came in 2012 at the UCF Softball Complex.
 
Next Up
UCF begins a 19-game homestand on Friday with a contest against Providence at 3 p.m. The UCF Invitational continues for the Black and Gold on Mar. 4 against FGCU at 5 p.m. before concluding on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. vs. Providence.
