ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—Senior Chris Barrus was named the American Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Barrus went 2-0 in singles at the No. 4 position and 1-0 at No. 2 doubles last week.
A 6-2, 6-0 victory on Friday gave the Knights (6-1) a second singles win prior to clinching a 6-1 win over Tennessee Tech. Barrus followed up with a 6-1, 6-2 win against Florida Atlantic on Sunday to give the Black and Gold another 6-1 victory.
He teamed up with Enrique Paya to clinch the doubles point against the Owls, 6-4, at the No. 2 spot.
The Naples, Fla., native is undefeated in singles this season, recording wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots.
