ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—The UCF men's tennis team hosts Auburn and Bethune-Cookman on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the USTA National Campus.
UCF's match against Auburn has been moved to a 9 a.m. start and the match time against Bethune-Cookman is set for 5 p.m., but, if necessary, a change will be determined by Saturday at 6 p.m.
"We are looking forward to hosting Auburn and Bethune-Cookman on Sunday," said head coach John Roddick. "Auburn is going to be a tough challenge and we will have to play well."
Last weekend, UCF (3-0) defeated No. 23 Texas Tech, New Mexico and Arizona in their season-opening outing at the USTA National Campus.
Junior Korey Lovett holds a 3-0 record at the top position, while nationally ranked Mariano Porter and Harrison Richmond have not dropped a match on the top doubles court.
This will be Auburn's season opener. The Tigers have seven players contending for a spot in the singles lineup.
"Hosting Bethune-Cookman in the evening will test some of our guys' fitness levels," Roddick said.
Bethune-Cookman also opens their season on Sunday. The Wildcats have a new head coach, Val Vilucci, who joins the team after more than 20 years with the men's and women's tennis programs at the University of Rhode Island.
Live scoring and live streaming will be available for the matches.
