ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—The UCF volleyball team fell to Tulane, 3-0 (21-25, 21-25, 19-25) on Sunday afternoon at The Venue.

"I want to congratulate Tulane on playing a flawless match," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "The fact remains that we walked in today and ran into a team that was not only good but a team that was hungry, that wanted it exponentially more than we did and who proved it on the floor."

Tulane jumped out to an early 7-2 lead in the first set. The Green Wave used the momentum to capture the first set 25-21. UCF trailed in the second set 17-24. The Knights held off four Tulane set points, but ultimately dropped the set 25-21. UCF had a 7-6 lead in the third set, but dropped five consecutive points giving Tulane a 11-7 lead. The Green Wave clinched the match with a 25-19 third set victory.

Alli Sabol registered eight kills, hitting at a .389 clip in the match. As a team, UCF recorded 34 kills, 29 assists, 47 digs and eight total blocks.

The Knights, who are presented by Holiday Inn East Orlando UCF Area, goes on the road next weekend. UCF takes on UConn on Friday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. Followed by Temple on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m.
