Slip to Seventh

Wilmington, N.C. (UCFKnights.com) - The No. 17 Knights (+13) slipped three spots to seventh on the team leaderboard at the Landfall Tradition Saturday. Senior Ashley Holder dropped four spots as well, but remains among the top-10 individuals.

After an opening round of one-under par, Holder came back and fired an even par round of 72 on day two. She is now tied for ninth among individuals and is just four-shots off the pace.

Scoring proved challenging Saturday, as the Knights combined for just seven birdies and one Eagle. Seniors Johanna Larsson and Ayaka Nakayama each carded second-round scores of 74 (+2).

Freshman Maria Balcazar turned in a 76 (+4) while junior Kaeli Jones finished the day with an 83 (+11).

In team play, No. 13 Wake Forest (-4) moved into the top spot while No. 24 Oklahoma (+3) dropped into a tie for second with No. 19 South Carolina (+3). The Gamecocks made the biggest push on day two, climbing six spots. No. 2 Furman (+4) and No. 12 Purdue (+4) are tied for fourth.
