Wilmington, N.C. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 17 Knights are headed to North Carolina to wrap up the fall portion of the 2016-17 campaign. UCF is one of four teams at the Landfall Tradition currently ranked in the top-25 in the nation.

Senior Ashley Holder, who took medalist honors at the event in 2014, is excited to get back to the Pete Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall. She said that changes to the roster this season have helped strengthen the team on and off the course.

"I feel like the team atmosphere has been a lot better this year," Holder said. "We all hang out outside of golf as well, which is great. Overall we are playing better, I think this season has been a success [so far]."

Holder will be joined in the starting lineup by fellow returning seniors Ayaka Nakayama and Johanna Larsson as well as junior transfer Kaeli Jones and freshman standout Maria Balcazar.

In her first-ever collegiate event in early September, Balcazar finished fourth overall at the Mason Rudolph Championship. She currently leads the Knights with a 70.6 scoring average through three events.

UCF has twice finished in the top-five against high-caliber fields this season. The team enters the Landfall Tradition with the fifth highest ranking among tournament participants. Other notables include No. 1 Alabama, No. 12 Purdue and No. 13 Wake Forest.

The opening round of the Landfall Tradition is scheduled for October, 28 at 8:30 a.m. with the Knights teeing it up beginning at 9:15 a.m. Click here to follow UCF via live scoring.
