TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF men's tennis falls in the main draws on Saturday at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, but senior Chris Barrus stays alive in the singles consolation bracket.

After winning their opening rounds yesterday, Mariano Porter and Danny Kerznerman opened Saturday morning looking for a spot in the Round of 16. Porter grabbed a first set victory over Oliver Landert of Florida Gulf Coast, 7-6, but the senior dropped the second and third 6-3, 6-4 to end his run in the tournament. On the contrary, Kerznerman breezed by Janis Koeke of Georgia State 6-1, 6-3, but the Alabama transfer ran in to the tournament's No. 2 seed in Florida's Elliott Orkin, who won 6-4, 6-3.

In the consolation bracket, Barrus has reached the quarterfinals. His opponent withdrew in the first match, and then the Naples, Florida, native cameback to defeat Florida Atlantic's Chanceral in three sets. Barrus dropped the first set 3-6 but battled through the next two, winning 6-4, 10-2.
