HARLINGEN, Texas (UCFKnights.com) – UCF junior transfer Korey Lovett stays alive in the USTA Future's Tournament in Harlingen, Texas, winning his second round match in the qualifying round.

Junior Korey Lovett grabbed a victory in Round 2, defeating Oklahoma State's Jurence Mendzoa 6-2, 6-1. With the win, the Alabama transfer advances to the finals of the qualifying round. He will face Dragos Ignat, who graduated from Columbia University this past spring, on Monday at 10 a.m. for a spot in the Single Main Draw of the Harlingen Country Club Men's Futures Tournament.

Kalman Boyd dropped a tough Round 1 match on Saturday to Texas A&M's A.J. Catanzariti. The USC transfer let the first set slip away with the Aggie winning 7-6 (10). Boyd then dropped the second 6-4 to get eliminated from play.
