Knights Watch – Aug. 11

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After taking a day away from the practice fields, UCF got back to work Thursday with a morning and afternoon practice. It was the first two-a-day for the Knights in the preseason.
 
"We need to get out here to get accustomed to the Florida heat," said head coach Scott Frost after the first outdoor practice. "The guys responded well today, this morning's practice was great. The afternoon practice they were dragging a little but they gave us what they had."

News & Notes
-Big congrats to former Knight and current defensive backs coach Travis Fisher. The Fisher family welcomed a baby boy to the world on Wednesday.
-Practice No. 6 took place inside Nicholson Fieldhouse, while No. 7 was the first session to take place on the outside fields this month.
-UCF is scheduled to have three more two-a-days in camp.
-Thursday also marked the beginning of the first Rise and Conquer Fantasy Camp. The second camp will take place next week. To learn more, contact the GKC office at (407) UCF-2086.
-After the second practice, quality control coach Kevin Smith took on director of player personnel Marcus Castro-Walker in a 1-on-1 battle. Castro-Walker had to catch one pass in five attempts against Smith, however the former UCF running back prevailed each time. Check out the end of the photo gallery for images.
-The NFL Preseason gets underway Thursday. UCF currently has 21 players in training camps:
