ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Knights fans filled the stands at the UCF Soccer Complex Thursday, for a preseason exhibition against Miami. UCF scored the first goal early, but the Hurricanes fought back in the second half to earn a 2-1 victory.
In the 11th minute, sophomore Carrie Lawrence threaded a pass to junior transfer Christine Creighton, who sent a strike over the Miami goalkeeper into the top corner of the back post.
The Knights took a one-nil lead into the locker room at half time but it was Miami who took control in the second half.
In the 67th minute, Ronnie Johnson drove the ball up the middle and put a laser past sophomore Vera Varis. The Canes would score again in the 72nd minute when Lexi Castellano worked through traffic in front of the net before burying a shot.
