Swinging Scholars

LarssonNakayamaStonerORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- Three UCF Knights have been honored as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars.

Johanna Larsson, Ayaka Nakayama and Erica Stoner each received the accolades. The WGCA All-American Scholar award is among the most stringent of its kind in collegiate athletics, with a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 required to qualify. In all, a total of 828 women's collegiate golfers were recognized.

"I am extremely proud of our girls for being recognized for their hard work in the classroom," head coach Emily Marron said. "They have all made a serious commitment to academics and to prove you can excel as both a student and an athlete. We thank the WGCA for this honor."

Larsson will be a senior in 2016-17. She transferred to UCF prior to last season. Nakayama will also be a senior in the upcoming season and has been a key contributor the past two years. Stoner will be a sophomore in 16-17 after playing in six events as a freshman.
