ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – For the sixth-straight season, UCF was recognized of Friday with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honor. Cortney Cesarini, Caroline Eberhart, Diana Dehterevich, Emilia Granstrom, Sofia Baptista, Monica Matias and Natalia Serrano also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction.
 
The Knights were also recognized off the court in May with their fifth-consecutive perfect 1000 APR score by the NCAA.
 
Baptista, who received her degree in May, earned her third-consecutive ITA Scholar-Athlete award. The senior posted an 8-4 mark at No. 2 doubles and totaled 14 overall victories.
 
For the second time in their careers, Cesarini (2014), Eberhart (2013) and Matias (2015) received the individual honor. A team-best 22 victories were tallied by Matias in her sophomore campaign, while Cesarini contributed 16 win as a junior. Eberhart played at No. 1 during the dual-match season, notched seven victories and earned her degree following the spring semester.
 
Serrano, Dehterevich and Granstrom were honored with scholar-athletes laurels following their first season with the Knights. A 14-4 dual-match mark was recorded by Serrano, while Granstrom picked up 16 wins and Deterevich added 13 victories.
 
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to member program that post a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or better. A player receives ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition for being a varsity letterwiner that has at least a 3.50 GPA in the current academic year.
