UCF - No. 17 USF stats
TAMPA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF men's tennis team battled against No. 17 USF, but fell short in a 4-0 decision at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts on Sunday.
"We are proud of the energy, intensity, and fight our Knights demonstrated today," assistant coach Brandon Stokes said. "We started fast in doubles and challenged a talented and well-coached team. They made more plays. But we set the tone on their Senior Day."
The Bulls took the early 1-0 lead, using wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to clinch the doubles point. Junior Reece Acree and sophomore Tyler Pate held a 4-3 edge on court two with USF clinched the point.
Moving to singles, the home team doubled its lead with a win at No. 1. The Bulls used wins on courts six and then four to clinch the 4-0 victory.
The Knights return to the UCF Tennis Complex on Thursday, hosting Bethune-Cookman for the final home contest of the season. Senior Jose Sangroniz will be recognized prior to the match at 2 p.m.

It was a huge mountain to climb missing 3 starters. But our guys today fought relentlessly. This can be a galvanizing experience for us as we continue our journey to be a family and finish the season on our terms."
