UCF vs. Samford (3/10/16) - Images by UCF Knights ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF recorded a 4-0 victory over Samford on Thursday morning behind singles wins by junior Cortney Cesarini, sophomore Monica Matias and freshman Natalia Serrano at the UCF Tennis Complex.

In the doubles competition, UCF (6-4) took an early lead after Matias and Cesarini cruised to a win at No. 3, 6-1. The first point of the match was clinched with a 6-3 victory by senior Sofia Baptista and Serrano at No. 1 against Samford (4-7).
Singles play opened by Serrano notching a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 5. The Knights took a 3-0 advantage when Matias at No. 3 closed out her match with a pair of 6-2 wins.
Cesarini secured the match for UCF at No. 4 by posting back-to-back 6-4 scores. The remainder of the matches were unfinished with both teams set to play on Friday.
The Knights are set to host SMU in an American Athletic Conference match on Friday at 11 a.m. at the UCF Tennis Complex.
