Solid Second Round

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - After a slow start, the Knights rebounded in the second of two rounds at the SunTrust Gator Invitational Saturday. UCF is in eighth after two rounds at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.

After opening with a 13-over round of 293, the Knights came back with a 1-under score in the second round. UCF currently sits at 12-over par heading into Sunday's third and final round. The Knights are just one stroke behind Georgia Southern for seventh place and are only five strokes out of sixth.

George Williams led the way for UCF Saturday. He is currently 3-over and sits in a tie for 32nd place. After a first-round 75 (+5), he came back at 2-under (68) in round two. Meanwhile Manuel Elvira and Andrew Arft (who is taking part as an individual) are both tied for 44th. Elvira shot a 71 and 73 in the first two rounds, while Arft reversed those two scores in his first two rounds. Unfortunately, Arft's scores don't count toward UCF's team total.

Donnie Trosper is tied for 47th. He is 5-over after carding a first round 75 (+5) and a second round 70 (E). Juuso Kahlos tallied a 79 (+9) for his first 18, but bounced back with a 2-under socre of 68 in the second round. He is tied for 58th. Thomas Le Berre rounded out the UCF lineup and is tied for 66th at +10.
