ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF recorded a 7-0 sweep against Florida A&M on Friday afternoon at the UCF Tennis Complex. The Knights combined to win all 15 sets played against the Rattlers.

In the doubles competition, UCF (2-0) did not drop a single point on its way to taking a 1-0 advantage in the contest. Sophomore Emilia Granstrom partnered with senior Sofia Baptista at No. 1, while junior Cortney Cesarini at No. 2 teamed up with freshman Natalia Serrano. The third pairing that blanked their opponent was senior Clare Mendell and freshman Diana Dehterevich.
The momentum continued for the Knights as Serrano, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6 and Granstrom, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 delivered quick victories to start singles play. A 6-2, 6-1 win by sophomore Monica Matias at No. 5 secured the match for the Knights.
Senior Caroline Eberhart and Baptista in the first and second slot, respectively, put UCF on top, 6-0. Eberhart tallied a 6-1, 6-1 win, while Baptista added a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
After coming up on top in a tight first set, 7-5, Cesarini scored three-consecutive points to secure the straight-set victory, 7-5.
The Knights begin a two-match road trip on Feb. 6 with an 11 a.m. match at Florida Gulf Coast. Florida Atlantic hosts UCF on Feb. 7 with the first serve set for 11 a.m.
UCF is back home on Feb. 10 for a 2 p.m. match against North Florida.
