ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)- Four members of the UCF women's tennis team advanced in singles play on Saturday of the 2015 USTA Collegiate Clay Invitational hosted by Florida State at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Sophomore Monica Matias started off the day with a tough three-set win over Troy's Efriliva Herlina, 4-6, 7-5, 13-11. In the gold consolation singles bracket, senior Sofia Baptisa notched a 6-1, 7-6 (5) victory against Jivayuan Xue of Troy.
Two Knights, senior Clare Mendell and freshman Diana Dehterevich, are still alive in the consolation white singles bracket. Mendell cruised to a two-set victory over Stetson's Arijana Korac, 6-2, 6-1, while teammate Dehterevich recorded a 6-1, 6-4 win over Barba Macera of North Carolina State.
The Clay Court Invite concludes on Sunday with matches set to begins at 8 a.m. at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
