DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF women's tennis team won all five singles and two doubles matches on Saturday at the Juan Varon Wildcat Invitational Tournament played on the clay courts at the Florida Tennis Center.

The doubles duo of sophomore Emilia Granstrom and freshman Diana Dehterevich set the pace with a win over Warner's Fernanda Correa and Monique Frandji, 8-2. An 8-3 victory was notched by senior Clare Mendell and sophomore Monica Matias over Carlye Goldman and Hayley McPhearson of Rollins.

Granstrom followed up with a singles victory over Embry-Riddle's Jui-I huang, 6-3, 6-0. A 7-5, 6-2 win was notched by junior Cortney Cesarini over Mary Jo Nanti of Flager in her first action of the fall season.

The reigning Singles B flight champion, Mendell, knocked off her opponent Lauren Stuckey, 6-3, 6-2, of Florida Tech. Sophomore Monica Matias served up a 6-0, 6-2 win over St. Petersburg's Jennifer Camacho.

The day ended with Dehterevich cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Julia Cusumano of Palm Beach Atlantic.

The second day of the three-day event begins at 8 a.m. Saturday on the clay courts of the Florida Tennis Center.
