FT. MYERS, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The Knights registered five singles and two double victories on the second day of the Bedford Cup Saturday at the FGCU Tennis Complex. Senior Clare Mendell won twice in the Singles B Consolation bracket to advance to the semifinals.

Medell downed Heateher Walton (FAU) in a third-set super tiebreaker, 10-7, before notching a 6-3, 6-3 triumph of Alexis Crenshaw (FAU). Sophomore Emilia Granstrom notched a 6-1, 6-0 win over Maja Salibasic in the consolation of Singles A.
Sophomore Monica Matias and freshman Diana Dehterevich each registered a victory in the Singles B Consolation II bracket. Matias picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win over Jazz Whittaker (FAU), while a straight-set triumph, 6-4, 6-1, moved Dehterevich past Mariella Calderon (UNF).
In doubles action, seniors Sofia Baptista and Caroline Eberhart teamed up to defeat league rivals Jess Cortes Chavis and Ana Roman Diminguez (USF) during Double A consolation. The newcomer duo of Diana Dehterevich and Emilia Granstrom tallied a Doubles B consolation win over Eveline Lepinay and Alexandra Lyubimova (Stetson).
The Knights duo that went the furtherst in the main draw were Matias and Mendell falling in the semifials of Doubles B.
UCF completes the Bedford Cup on Sunday with matches set to get underway at 8 a.m.
