GOLD RIVER, Calif. (UCFKnights.com) -- The UCF rowing team took to the water on Saturday to race its way into the C and D Finals at the NCAA Championships on Lake Natoma.

The Varsity Eight opened the day of semifinals. The squad, consisting of Olivia Hecimovich, Kaitlyn Ward, Lauren Aiello, Viktorija Senkute, Ivana Krkljus, Olivia Staples, Zana Krakic, Ginni Dunlop and Crystal Victor, finished third with a time of 6:56.434. The Knights join Gonzaga, USC, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Yale in the C Finals.

In the Second Varsity Eight, the Knights finished fourth with a time of 7:12.031. The boat, consisting of Kristen Taylor, Ashleigh Boyd, Andrea Krebs, Jasmine Blais, Amy Compare, Alison Ponce, Julia Chase, Danielle Taylor and Abby Justinger, join Gonzaga, Navy and Jacksonville in the D Finals.

The Varsity Four closed out the semifinals morning. UCF's squad, consisting of Catherine Harms, Carly Burleson, Lauren Wasko, Annie Thompson and Rachael Klunder, finished fourth with a time of 8:06.136. They will join Northeastern, UMass and Jacksonville in the D Finals on Sunday.

The Varsity Eight will race for places 13-18 in the C Finals. The Second Varsity Eight will race for places 20-22 in the D Finals and the Varsity Four will race for places 19-22 in the D Finals.
