ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF men's tennis team had a three-match win streak snapped with a 5-0 loss to No. 17 USF at the USF Varsity Courts on Friday afternoon. The Knights fell to 8-7 overall after facing their first conference opponent of the spring.

A quick win on court three opened the doubles action in USF's favor. Sophomores Chris Barrus and Inaki Espinola held a 5-3 lead over the duo of Oliver Pramming and Justin Roberts, who are ranked 35th in doubles, when the Bulls earned the doubles point with a win at No. 2.

Straight set wins on courts two, three and four sealed USF's home win. Sophomore Reece Acree claimed a 6-3 opening set win, but dropped the next two, 1-6, 2-10, to fall at No. 6 singles.

Senior Francesc Aulina won his opening set at No. 1 singles against No. 22 Roberto Cid and was playing a tight second set when the match ended. Sophomore Mariano Porter won the tie-breaker to claim a 7-6(5) win over Vadym Kalyuzhnyy at No. 5 singles and was leading the second set when the match finished.

UCF returns to the UCF Tennis Complex for a Sunday match against Butler. The teams are slated for a 10 a.m. start.
