ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - After No. 9 UCF recorded a 4-3 home win on Tuesday, No. 2 Florida jumped out to a 5-0 lead on Wednesday through the first three innings on its way to an 10-2 victory at McKethan Stadium.

The contest served as UCF's (11-2) second matchup between Top-10 teams in program history. Both meetings came on consecutive nights.

Senior shortstop Dylan Moore connected on the solo homer to start off the fourth inning. It was the second round tripper of the season for the Yorba Linda, Calif., native.

Trotting around the bases for the first time in his career was sophomore left fielder Eugene Vazquez, who sent a pitch over the fence in right in the eighth inning after coming in as a reserve.

The Knights saw lots of action on the mound with seniors Tanner Olson, Parker Thomas, junior Ryan Meyer, sophomore Drew Faintich and freshmen Brad Rowley and Eric Hepple, who made his first-career start. Faintich recorded three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings to lead the Knights.

Florida scored in each of the first four innings, which included two runs in the first and a trio in the fourth. The Gators recorded seven hits and took advantage of two errors and three walks during that span.

Three insurance runs were added by the Gators in the sixth inning to increase the advantage to 10-1. Christian Hicks led the attack with three RBI, while Harrison Bader connected on a solo homer. The win was recorded by Kirby Snead (1-0), who fanned two in 2 1/3 innings of relief.

The Knights welcome Columbia for a three-game set beginning on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and continue at 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. The Lions took a pair of contests in a four-game series at No. 3 Houston last weekend.
