LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Members of the UCF men's tennis team continued play at Disney's Wide World of Sports Friday for the USTA Clay Court Invitational. During the second day of competition, three Knights picked up singles consolation victories.
Jesse Flores handled Jack Haffey of Florida State, 6-3, 6-3. Facing Tennessee's Jarryd Chaplin, Amar Hromic held on for a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 triumph. Francesc Aulina was also victorious. He topped Southern Cal's Nick Crystal (3-6, 6-3, 10-5).
Two Knights - Chris Barrus and Reece Acree - are in Fort Myers this weekend, competing at the FGCU Fall Invitational. On Friday, Barrus picked up a pair of singles wins, including a 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 triumph over host Florida Gulf Coast's Gabe Echeverry.
The events are serving as the final tournaments of the fall for the Knights.
