ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF Cross Country Classic proved to be a welcomed homecoming for the Knights as Anne-Marie Blaney blazed the way for the Knights to post a top-three finish on Friday evening.
Blaney led the women's 6k event and never looked back as she crossed the finish line with a time of 21:34.56, nearly 16 seconds ahead Miami's second place finisher Lindsi Arrington (21:50.36).
With 95 runners competing in the race, the Knights yielded two top-10 finishes and six among the top-40 finishers to grab their fourth top-three finish of the season.
Sophomore Heather Classe (22:28.50) snagged fourth place, while fellow runner Amy Ankli crossed the line in 12th place.
Junior Amelia Williams added points for the Knights with her time of 23:57.05
UCF will head to East Hartford, Connecticut next to participate in the American Athletic Conference championships on November 2.
