Athens, Ga. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF's successful opening event of the fall came to a close Sunday as the Knights concluded play at the Southern Intercollegiates. Four Knights were in action Sunday.
Chris Barrus and Reece Acree, a pair of freshman, had their Division II Doubles bracket run end in the quarterfinals. The pair fell to a duo from Mercer, 8-4.
In the Division II Singles consolation bracket, Francesc Aulina topped Tennesee Tech's Alberto Esteban, 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (5).
Twenty-eight teams were competing at the tournament in Athens. The event was the first of five this fall for the Knights.
