ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Riaan Du Toit, a transfer from New Mexico, has joined the UCF men's tennis program, head coach Bobby Cashman has announced. A highly-touted player from Canada, Du Toit brings valuable Division I experience to the Knights.
As a freshman with the Lobos this past year, Du Toit complied 35 totals wins. Playing at the No. 3, 4 and 5 positions, he posted a 17-13 singles mark. He played at the No. 1 and 2 doubles spots and posted an 18-15 mark.
"We are very excited about adding Riaan to our program," Cashman said. "He is a great doubles player. He brings some great experience from his time at New Mexico and in Canada. He has a big forehand and a big serve and we look forward to him joining us next month."
A resident of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Du Toit had an acclaimed junior career and was ranked as high as No. 4 in Canada and No. 250 in the world. He was the grade 4 singles and doubles champion at the All-Canadian ITF. Du Toit was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
Du Toit is the fourth member of UCF's recruiting class, joining freshmen Reece Acree, Inaki Espindola and Jesse Flores.
