ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team has added to its already impressive recruiting class as Reece Acree of Pensacola has joined the Knights, head coach Bobby Cashman announced.
Acree starred at Washington High School and was as the selected Pensacola News-Journal Player of the Year for the second-straight season as a senior. During his prep career, he was ranked as high as No. 83 nationally by TennisRecruiting.net.
"Reece is a good competitor and a very good doubles player," Cashman said. "He will help provide depth in the lineup. He has a big forehand and a good serve and we are excited to have him on board."
In 2013, Acree qualified for the state finals in both singles and doubles for the fourth-straight year. He teamed with Austin Racine for a runner-up finish in doubles.
He finished his prep career with a 168-7 overall record, a pair of state doubles titles, one state doubles runner-up showing and was a member of two state runner-up squads.
Acree will make his UCF debut this fall along with fellow incoming freshmen Inaki Espindola (Mexico) and Jesse Flores (Canada).
